Elgard is a fantasy MMORPG for iOS devices, delivering a dungeon exploring experience with highlight touchscreen controls.

Review:

At first sight, it comes no surprise that all the pictures are blurry in such typical Asian style MMORPG. You can’t find worse graphics in any other iOS game, even in those carelessly crafted strategy titles. One might even misbelieved they were dealing with a game developed in 1980s – you only see your tiny character, riding on its mount, travel around the blurry world. That would be a very primitive view though.

You explore dungeons of multiple layers, chat with NPCs for more information, tips, and quests, and occasionally challenge other players in duels. Anyway, you can experience all that appears in a typical fantasy Asian MMORPG in Elgard.

And those primitive pictures and typical MMOPRG elements embrace a classic control system that is only available on touch screen devices – the joystick. You move your character around by pressing and sliding on the big round button on the left and attack by pressing the skill buttons on the right.

That’s pretty much what you will do all the time. It sounds simple but it is far from easy to get through dungeons where huge hordes of strange creatures are ready to drain your blood, though all appear cute enough. Of course, the monsters you encounter as you upgrade would be increasingly powerful but the first dungeon you crawl is also of three storeys and is populated by scores of minion monsters and a huge Boss. A single monster alone takes four or five normal attacks to be killed and when three or more monsters come up, especially when at the same time Boss tries to hit you with its gigantic body, it could be extremely dangerous.

Anyone who seeks for an intense slaying and MMORPG experience on iPad and those who have a thing for old games and classic pictures will find Elgard quite desirable but as for those who demand quality graphics, Elgard can be horrible.

Lol, so, are you (dotmmo) saying this game is a joke, based on graphics??
if I read it correctly, it really emphasized that this has by far, the worst graphics for any handheld, for any console, for any ios and android device, in the almost 30 year history of video games??
Please reply to this post, if I read this description right or not?

What the hell is this dire excuse for gaming journalism? With that attitude I seriously doubt you have *any* knowledge of games developed in the 1980s. You know, like Pacman, Galaga, Space Invaders etc. Does this look anything like any of those titles? No.

Elgard is actually a rather nice looking game. Animations are smooth and fluid, the sprites and world are colourful. Effects are pretty enough. Yes it' not some 1080p HD eye-popper, but that's part of it's charm. If any comparison is to be made in relation to the graphics, it's close to a PS1 era JRPG, or late era SNES game (i.e. Chrono Trigger) at a push.

In the end though, it's idiotic reviews of this ilk that ignore the fact that GRAPHICS DO NOT A GOOD GAME MAKE.

For example, I personally have had more enjoyment out of say Ys – Oath in Felghana, as opposed to Final Fantasy XIII. "But teh graphicz on FF13!!111one!" No, just no.

Maybe if you could pull your head out of your arse, you'd enjoy actual games more often instead of just ignoring something because it doesn't have AAA quality presentation. If not, then enjoy your closed mind and sheltered gaming existence. I (and many others) will be where the grass is greener, albeit more pixelated sometimes, enjoying things you'll never understand.

Wow shittiest review ever read, how can it review Elgard only to state its downfall, seriously dumbass graphics aren't always everything to making a game good, yet again idiots like you are too picky with games. Please do us a favor and remove this review you are indeed a terrible critic.
