Embers of Caerus

Embers of Caerus, developed and published by Forsaken Studio, is a fantasy-themed sandbox RPG where players can create their own kingdom from scratch and take part in a series of activities, like expanding your territory, charging various taxes, entering into battles etc.

Though combat is an indispensible part yet the main focus of such a title, Embers of Caerus does not solely concentrate on it. Instead, it pays more attention to other features that are closely related to combat, such as tax, economy, politics etc. In detail, to make your city thrive, you must build a prosperous economy, attract as many taxpayers as possible, and employ diverse kinds of workers. One can not survive by oneself in the vast world, so it is also important to do your utmost to establish benign yet profitable relations with your neighbors. If you can’t handle politics well, you are doomed to end up in loneliness and failure.

Of course, it is far from easy to manage a city. Strategic layout must be deliberately considered while setting up towering castles, defense towers, protective walls etc. You can also dispatch a squad of mercenaries to patrol around your city. When the time is right, you can launch wars against your foes and expand your territory step by step.
When it comes to the visuals, the settings are varied, but Embers of Caerus fails to offer something impressive. For example, the characters are not so charming, if not ugly.
