Final Fantasy: Dimensions is a new version of Final Fantasy series released at the end of August, 2012 by Square Enix. After a history of 25 years, is Final Fantasy still energetic and appealing?
The game is free to download. However, only the Prologue chapter is available to freemium players and other contents could be purchased. When you have finished a few dialogues and are about to start a real adventure, you will find yourself blocked in a scene, holding no access to nearby lands. If you purchase the four chapters all at once, you will enjoy a “bargain” of $28.99. To enjoy the Chiptune BGM, another $9.99 would be necessary.
It is not simply a turn based game, but an active time battle system, which means you may lose a chance to attack if you run out of the action time. For overwhelming battles, you could activate the auto mode.
Final Fantasy: Dimensions is like FC or SFC versions before FF 5, although the graphics are in high qualities, it is hard for me to accept the bitmap after I had experienced so many new versions on PS or PC platforms. This old school artwork may arouse memories back in old times but wouldn’t work for new generation players.
