Mists of Pandaria vs. KungFu Panda

“Its lush forests and cloud-ringed mountains are home to a complex ecosystem of indigenous races and exotic creatures” – Is this official description of Pandaren’s homeland in Mists of Pandaria reminiscent of the gorgeous and splendid opening scenery in DreamWorks’ legendary Kung Fu Panda?

Yes, there are similarities. But, Pandarans were a part of Warcraft lore long before Kung-Fu Panda was created. And as sue happy as large corporations are getting, I can see DreamWorks suing Blizzard over the similarities, and Blizzard showing up to court with a copy of Warcraft II and laughing.

Pandarans predate Kung Fu Panda by 6 years.

After much research, I noticed that the Kung Fu Panda project was announced in 2001, with the actual story being written much earlier. The Pandarian in W3 idea started in 2002, coming into full development in 2003. In my honest opinion, one of the Blizzard devs found out about KFP and developed a serious nerd-on for it.
