People are drawn to games for different reasons which may be psychologically and roughly summarized into one, that is, a sense of satisfaction for experiencing whatever one desires but is deprived of in real life. While some experiences such as killing, shooting and racing a car have faded into commonplace activities in the virtual world, it is more challenging for game developers to come up with more appealing or surprising ideas to draw new blood into a game. How about the idea of toy-resembling zombies made out of detachable body parts like minimized Frankenstein engaging in battles? It is what is in the mind of creators of the game of Zombinis.
Zombinis, a collectable social game that is still on the way, will be launching soon to the market as the first product of the newborn social game development studio known as East Side Games located in Vancouver. This new studio is said to be established on a 1.5 billion dollars’ fund with its core personages famous as former studio manager and director of DES Games. It is the same developing team that has made another popular social game titled Pot Farm, a game winning 900,000 monthly fans with the non-mainstream marijuana-planting farm management storyline. Given the reputation of being boldly and weirdly innovative of its game-makers, it is guessed at that Zombinis would probably turn out to be a little crazy as well.
With limited information about its details, what we know just now is just the rough idea of patching-together zombies fighting in battle. Shown in the released image of its title, animals of various colors, shapes and species characteristic with stuffed toy images are in boisterous states as if ready to pounce into rivals. In this image, there are birds, bears, corks, octopuses and the indefinable ones, all appearing the broken and abandoned toys bandaged in the head or patched in other parts of the body. And how all these broken toys would come into life and enliven the whole game is still mystery for the public until more particulars are unveiled.
As to its appearing platform, the Facebook, Google+ Games service and the open web are all in the list of possibility. A final choice will certainly be a result of overall consideration of factors like players’ accessibility rate, taxes and each platform’s offer, etc. And now, players can but wait.
