Zynga announces the closed beta of CityVille 2

It’s been just a month since the release of FarmVille 2. And its developer Zynga has already been initiating the closed beta of CityVille 2, the sequel of its another hit, in Philippines exclusively.

The new sequel features 3D graphics as FarmVille 2 does and players will still role play as the mayor of a city and try to expand it into a metropolis. You will open factories, deploy infrastructures, and add decorations. In several of those structures, you can craft or produce items necessary for expansion and upgrades. And since this is a social game, you might still have to visit your neighbors, send gifts to your friends, and enhance your reputation. Amazingly, the game also introduces shifts between day and night – we don’t have to stare at a sleepless city anymore.

The news was announced on Zynga’s blog. Although its performance is not as good as expected, Zynga is still striving to keep the success of its ville series as well as developing its own game platform and expanding to other game branches, for example, gambling and PVP battling gaming.

CityVille 2 deserves to be on our watch list not only because it is the sequel of a successful title, but also because a company that has released magnificent masterpieces such as CastleVille and ChefVille can hardly fail, no matter how it is doing financially.
